Regulation
28. Dampers.
(1) No damper which may
entirely close a flue or uptake shall be fitted to any steam boiler fired by
oil or pulverised fuel
unless such damper is interlocked with the burners so that they cannot
function when the damper
is closed.
(2) Where the provisions
of paragraph (1) of this regulation are not satisfied means shall be
provided to prevent the
damper closing more than ninety per centum of the area of the flue or
uptake.
